BBC Radio 6 Music Festival returns to Greater Manchester in March 2025

Today on the BBC Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show (weekdays, 7.30-10.30am), Nick Grimshaw (sitting in for Lauren Laverne) announced that the next 6 Music Festival will take place from Wednesday 26 – Saturday 29 March 2025.

The 6 Music Festival is the station's annual, flagship event and is now based permanently in Greater Manchester. It is known for giving audiences performances from their favourite artists that they won't see anywhere else - from new music debuts, to one-off collaborations and surprise guests.

Across the four days next March, the station will take over some of Greater Manchester's much-loved venues to bring listeners a mix of live performances and DJ sets from a broad range of new and established acts. In addition, 6 Music's presenters will also be broadcasting their shows live from MediaCityUK in Salford, as well as from the festival venues.

Samantha Moy, Head of BBC Radio 6 Music says: "We're really proud that our festival brings listeners truly unique performances from the artists they love, alongside a celebration of the fantastic acts that are emerging from Greater Manchester - and 2025 will be no different. We're so looking forward to bringing the whole station to Greater Manchester again and for four days of incredible live music."

The full line-up and venues will be announced in February 2025.

Highlights will also be broadcast on BBC TV, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Music YouTube channel.
