Amazon Music today announce Dance UK Weekend Warm Up with Girls Don't Sync - a new eight episode bi-weekly livestreamed dance series on the Amazon Music UK channel on Twitch dedicated to showcasing and celebrating UK dance music and culture.
The bi-weekly Friday night show, kicking off at 6pm on 24th March, will be hosted by exciting DJ group Girls Don't Sync and will be an authentic, relatable and buzzy reflection of the UK dance scene right now. The first guests are Piri McBurnie from the drum and bass duo Piri & Tommy and Bklava.
Dance UK Weekend Warm Up with Girls Don't Sync is an extension of the successful Amazon Music Dance UK playlist which launched globally in October 2022 and explicitly celebrates the rich culture and heritage of the UK dance and electronic scene, representing its diversity and innovation while providing opportunities for artists and producers to reach new audiences worldwide.
Hosts Matty Chiabi, G33, Sophia Violet and Hannah Lynch aka Girls Don't Sync, are a female only group of DJs, producers and creators who are on a mission to inspire an 'Army' of female DJs. Known for their high energy blend of UK garage, house and bass music, the ensemble has grown in popularity since forming in 2021, winning Best Breakthrough DJs at DJ Mag's prestigious Best Of British Awards at the end of last year.
Future guests include venbee, Nathan Dawe, Jodie Harsh and Ewan McVicar.
Speaking on the new series, Girls Don't Sync said: "We are honoured to team up with Amazon Music to celebrate and represent the UK dance scene, we are so grateful to be part of a culture that gives us a new sense of community and a feeling of freedom within the rave. We have some very special guests lined up throughout the series, artists that we love and respect in dance music and we are super excited to share this experience with an audience! The show will give an insight into our relationship as a group as well as our individual personalities; but ultimately you can expect the usual GDS energy, we want our audience to have fun and engage with us like they do at our DJ sets!"
Laura Lukanz, Head of Music Industry, UK, Australia & New Zealand at Amazon Music says: "The UK is at the forefront of innovation in dance music, living and breathing the genre and its culture so I'm really excited we're launching this new series on Twitch for young audiences that will showcase and celebrate all of these things and become a key destination for dance music fans on a Friday night. Our stellar hosts, Girls Don't Sync, will bring vibes and high energy to the show and will represent the new generation of artists who are continuing to drive the culture forward."
