This exceptionally cool tune from Whicher is the perfect soundtrack to these current glorious summer days and nights. We first discovered the singer-songwriter back in February when he personally submitted his absolutely lovely Always Alright to us, after plucking up the courage to try his hand as a solo artist. He’d previously spent much of his career behind a drum kit, but felt inspired by some of his favourite singer-songwriters to give it a shot. He’s an absolute natural at it. Both that previously-featured track and this latest one clearly demonstrate he's ripe for mainstream success with his skilled ear for uncluttered, clean production. It lets the catchy verse and chorus shine through, telling the relatable true tale of two close friends that split, but were grown-up enough to be upbeat and positive about their futures. We'd easily hear this slide right now onto Radio 2, Magic, Absolute and any other adult contemporary-focused station anywhere in the world. But he’s unsigned, has no plugger, publisher or management, and is looking for his big break. This song should open doors everywhere.
