Half The World Away
We say
Well, one of the most-sought-after TV syncs of the year has fallen to a new act we’ve already supported since the spring. Norwegian teenager Aurora is the youngest-ever voice of the annual John Lewis Christmas commercial and this year’s ad Man On The Moon caused a social-media frenzy when it debuted online last Friday morning and then on primetime TV. The song is a delightful cover of an Oasis track, best known in the UK in its original version as the theme to much-loved BBC sitcom The Royle Family. Now, her star is in the ascendency with a debut album set for release in spring 2016 and another brand new song before that, to further set things up, in January. To date, Aurora’s music has been streamed over 20 million times on Spotify and she’s notched up more than six million video views this year. Hopefully, her excellent former-featured track Running With The Wolves will also now get a second chance at success. She’s back in London supporting Of Monsters & Men on November 25 and returns on February 2 to play Union Chapel. Wistful and moving, this is truly lovely.
