You
We say
We spoke glowingly about the debut single from 22-year old Glaswegian singer-songwriter Kerri Watt when we featured it back in September. Now comes her second EP and dare we say it's even better. An accomplished Tom Fuller production (noted for his work with Mumford & Sons, Ella Henderson and Robbie Williams), it’s another solid slice of contemporary adult pop. Having just supported Radio 2 favourites Ward Thomas last Thursday in London, Kerri's now confirmed on The Overtones 25-date UK summer tour. We previously mentioned influences like KT Tunstall or Sheryl Crow in her sound and they shine again here, tempting you in and engaging you. It’s yet another release from 25 Hour Convenience Store, a label recently set up by Gary Powell from The Libertines and whose roster so far has always been a joy to discover. She launches the EP with gig at the Barfly in Camden on April 27 and there’s a Scottish tour lined up for May. Kerri has the songs and the talent to sell albums by the lorry-load, both here and across Europe, to those that just appreciate a great song when they hear it.
