This refreshing debut release from Anglo-Italian band Mausi has proved unforgettable since we first heard it online last year. The production goes against the grain with a clean mix on the vocals and an upbeat funky-indie groove, somewhat in contrast to the reverb-drenched tracks that currently seem to be dominating alternative pop.  Sol. was picked up in the U.S. by boutique label and blog All Things Go and was made available as a free download there in August. The DIY video picked up coverage on NME.com and The 405, as well as being made 6Music's 'video of the week' by Bethan Elfyn. Despite still being available for management, publishing and records, Mausi have been invited to support The Jezabelles on February 28 at The Cluny in their base city of Newcastle, another positive indication of the potential the band offers. Video.
