Thursday, 2nd October 2014: The Radio Academy today revealed the prestigious ’ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30’ list, the radio industry’s next generation. Tickets are on sale now, available at www.radioacademy.org.

Each year the ’30 Under 30’ celebrates the UK radio industry’s most promising young professionals. Now in its fourth year, the national search, which was created by The Radio Academy and is sponsored for the first time by ReelWorld, identifies the most talented and exceptional future stars of radio spanning all areas of the industry. Making the shortlist is an outstanding achievement and can act as a great career platform for the future.

Anthony Gay, ReelWorld European Managing Director, said: ‘It's a real honour for ReelWorld to be associated with the 30 Under 30 initiative.  Creativity, innovation, and exceptional execution are things we aspire to deliver on a daily basis and skills which I know play a huge part in the individuals who have made the short list.  These are the people that are driving our industry's future in new and exciting directions and I can't wait to welcome them all to our Salford home this month.’

This year’s list includes Pete Allison (23), Presenter on Absolute Radio and BBC Radio 1. Cited as an “extraordinarily bright talent”, Pete presents on both stations, a rarity for a presenter. Pete is joined by Radio Academy Award Gold winner and talkSPORT/UTV Producer, Kathryn Anastasi (29), LBC’s most senior News Correspondent, Tom Swarbrick (27), Yasmin Evans (23), one of BBC Radio 1Xtra’s youngest DJs, Gregor Runciman (22), Mid-Morning Presenter on Radio Borders, Ahmed Hussain (28), Assistant Producer and shining star at BBC Radio 1, Callum Pilkington (26),Broadcast Engineer for BFBS Radio in the Falklands and Global Radio Breakfast Producer, Stephanie Mayoh (28) - just a handful of incredible talent honoured in the list.

Will Wilkin (24), Mid-Morning Producer at BBC Radio Oxford, appears on the list for the second year running, while Joe Friel (27), Content & Partnerships Manager at Fun Kids Radio, has made the final 30 for a record third consecutive year.  Comedy Writer, Presenter and Producer Gareth Gwynn, who made the final 30 in 2012, said: “Since the 30 Under 30, I've done all sorts of exciting things, many of which I am sure are a direct result of appearing on the list & speaking at the Festival.”

The 30 Under 30, chosen by an independent panel of judges, will attend a special reception in theirhonour at this year’s Radio Festival. Chris Burns, Chair of Radio Festival 2014, added: “Radio Festival will present the chosen ‘30 Under 30’ to their peers.
