Start Up Launches Free Music Tech Event at Google Campus

Leeds based start-up event company, Creative Industry Hub are holding a free Music Tech conference at the Google Campus in London on the 26th October called 'Music TechTalks.' The purpose of the event is to educate musicians and music professionals on how technology will transform the music industry moving forward.

The event will also cover the latest trends and insights in the Music Technology space and demonstrate how musicians can use technology to transform their music careers. In a world where the music industry is becoming more reliant on technology through streaming and social media, for the first time ever, musicians have an amazing opportunity to do it themselves without a label.

Creative Industry Hub has arranged some of the UK's biggest leaders in the music tech space, Jason Perry being just one example. Jason is originally from Leeds but moved to London with his twin brother in the 90's. He later went on to be hugely successful in the rock band 'A,' followed by numerous chart topping successes with McFly, Molotov and Kids in Glass Houses, where he recently picked up a Grammy Award.

Other speakers include Harry Leckstein (MD at Soundcheque), Jon Skinner (CEO at Music Gateway), Pete Downton (CCO at 7digital), Paul Conroy (former president at Virgin Records UK), Rory Bernard (Chairman at SynchTank), Nick Dunn (CEO at Horus Music), and Rebecca Lammers (CEO at Laika Network). The discussions will cover YouTube, 'DIY in Music,' online distribution, sync, labels, global digital collaboration, content marketing, royalties and much more.

George Taylor, the Founder and Director of Creative Industry Hub, who previously set up ‘Strictly Go Networking,’ London’s number one chain of creative networking events, hopes the event will transform musician's careers. 'There are a lot of fantastic musicians out there, but not all of them are fully equiped for the digital revolution. I am hoping this initiative will improve people's digital skills and knowledge, helping them to boost their music careers and businesses.'

Music TechTalks has already received a fantastic response with local music businesses sponsoring the event. Jon Skinner, CEO of Music Gateway who is speaking at the event believes that London holds a wealth of untapped music potential. 'Even with Music Gateway’s global demographic, we still see a lot of activity from London-based users. I'm really looking forward to taking part in the panel and sharing my expertise.'
