Ministry of Sound closes a production deal for several years with arvato Replication
02 July 2015 - Press releaseMinistry of Sound, one of the leading club- and electronic-dance music labels, and the global entertainment and media service provider arvato Replication have signed an exclusive and longlasting contract to produce discs for the global market.
The music label Ministry of Sound traces its origins back to the legendary London club and has made unparalleled and very successful history by releasing live recordings. The internationally prosperous label was established in the early 1990s and now has its own contract artists, a radio station and has achieved 19 number one Single-Chart hits so far with 55 million albums sold.
The long-term contract was sealed at the music fair “Midem” by representatives of the music label and arvato Replication at the beginning of June. This had been preceded by an extensive tender, which the global media service provider was able to win, as well as an extensive test order for a current album. “We are delighted to have won with Ministry of Sound one of the world's most prestigious labels as our customer”, says Jorg Pollmeyer, vice president of sales at arvato Replication. “The contract includes the production of all disc releases, including print products and all packaging.”
With this contract Ministry of Sound brings together different manufacturing steps, which were previously separate. arvato Replication performs all services from the replication to the production of printed materials and also arranging the products to be ready for dispatch. “With arvato Replication we’ve chosen an experienced and renowned partner that combines all the services of the product manufacturing under one roof”, says Eddie Jones, sales director at Ministry of Sound.
The full-process mapping via arvato Replication as a central partner simplifies job management and coordination for future releases as well as for songs from the back catalog.
“To attract attention for its compilations Ministry of Sound still relies on the physical product,” explains Magnus Rosenthal, key account manager at arvato Replication, referring to the substantial volumes of the contract.
Since the start of the trial order “Drive” in mid-May follow-up orders as well as new ones have been placed. These orders are put together as one consignment and shipped globally via Ministry of Sound’s own distribution center as well as several other retailers.
